The background to our classes

The class programme is often a starting point for learners who otherwise would remain at home unable to access education or services in the host society and in mainstream provision. It works on many levels, to reduce isolation, enable positive integration and communication between people from different countries and cultures, as well as offering language classes tailored to meet the needs of refugees and asylum seekers.
At REEP we acknowledge the starting points of each learner and tailor the provision so that it is student led. Many learners coming to our classes have had no formal education in the past, they are often illiterate in their own language or are new to the Roman script.
Some of our clients have had a formal academic background, but have been through very traumatic experiences and need a safe place to begin rebuilding their lives in this country.
At REEP we offer a combination of mentoring and accredited Pre-entry, Entry 1, Entry 2 and Entry 3 classes in a supportive environment.
