The course takes learners through the process of looking for paid or unpaid employment and focuses on the linguistic and literacy skills required in order to undertake each task, for example, reading advertisements, requesting and completing an application form, producing a CV, preparing for interviews etc.

Many of the learners from the course have progressed into further education and training or have found employment. Additional workshops are provided in response to need eg IT, language and literacy.
